10 Simple Ways To Manage Stress

Stress is surely inevitable but it can be managed and reduced. Many people often ask me: "How do you manage to teach, blog and be a mom at the same time?", "Is it hard to be a working mom?". Well, sometimes it is. There were times that I had a crazy schedule or sleepless week. But I learned my lesson. Stress can be a hindrance of happiness. Whenever I let stress occur, It prevents me to spend quality time with my children. Stress makes me susceptible to illnesses. There are so many factors that triggers stress. We sometimes find ourselves burnt-out because of deadlines, household chores, watching our children, working from home, bills, current events and even the fear of the future. Stress can be draining emotionally, mentally and physically. When we're stressed out, it's challenging for us to think positively and find focus. So why let stress conquer your world?

Whereas life is a gift and meant to enjoy.


These are the 10 simple ways that I practice to relieve stress, recenter and attract positivity. I'm sharing what really have worked for me and even for my husband. You can try for yourself too.



1. Have a cup of tea

Caffeinne-free or herbal teas have powerful benefits. Chamomile and Lavender are my favorites. The Chamomile and Lavender blend can soothe and calm your mind and body. Lemonbalm, Peppermint and Rose Teas are quite helpful in naturally fighting stress as well.



2. Eat chocolates

Researchers found that eating dark chocolates can reduce the level of stress hormones in our bodies. Besides, chocolates are like heaven. I feel like I am totally recharged when I munch five pieces of truffles.



3. Go for a nature walk

Nothing beats the fresh air and walking is good for your body. Studies have shown that nature walk improves blood pressure and boosts mental health.



4. Talk to a family member/spouse/partner/friend

Having a strong support system creates a positive atmosphere. It is essential to express how we feel with someone that we can trust and communication brings relief. Suppresing our feelings can cause emotional fatigue. Don't be a prisoner of your own mind. Releasing your emotions will free you from any chest clogs as well.




5. Watch something comedy and funny

Just like the famous quote "Laughter is the best medicine". Most of us draw motivation from this saying. Laughter contributes positivity in our mood. When we laugh, we feel good as well. So laugh often.


6. Listen to uplifting and relaxing music

I love listening to uplifting and worship songs. It increases my faith and it renews my wisdom. Music gives us inspiration. Uplifting and relaxing music can help soothe our mind and relax our bodies. Music revives our moods too.




7. Meditate

By closing our eyes and taking deep breaths for a minute, It can help our bodies to release the negativity. Meditation can help us find our balance.



8. Diffuse essential oils or light a scented candle

9. Have a break from Social Media or do a "Social Media Pause".

It's really tempting to check those widgets and notifications keep on appearing and flashing on our mobile phones. Try to turn off the notifications to avoid browse binging. Social media posts can sometimes bring stress too especially if we can't tolerate the drama or the negativity. Board games with family or friends is a great option to have a social media pause too. 10. Write your thoughts on your grateful and daily journal

One of the most quiet form of releasing stress is by writing on journal where you can express and reflect everything without filter and judgements.
